DIVISION 10. LOCAL, SPECIAL, VACANCY, AND CONSOLIDATED ELECTIONS [10000 - 10735]   ( Division 10 enacted by Stats. 1994, Ch. 920, Sec. 2. )   PART 5. SCHOOL DISTRICT AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD ELECTIONS [10600 - 10604]   ( Part 5 enacted by Stats. 1994, Ch. 920, Sec. 2. )   10601.  Notwithstanding Section 10600, the governing board of any community college district may, by a resolution adopted by a majority vote of the board, assign a number to each seat on the board to be selected by lot. Once the numbers are assigned, any candidate for election to the board shall be required to run for a particular numbered seat on the board and be elected by the voters of the district at large. (Enacted by Stats. 1994, Ch. 920, Sec. 2.)
