CHAPTER 2. Compromise and Release [5000 - 5006] Â Â ( Chapter 2 enacted by Stats. 1937, Ch. 90. )

  5001.  Compensation is the measure of the responsibility which the employer has assumed for injuries or deaths which occur to employees in his employment when subject to this division. No release of liability or compromise agreement is valid unless it is approved by the appeals board or referee. (Amended by Stats. 1965, Ch. 1513.)
